The RANZCOG O&G App is an audit tool to assist and encourage participation in self-audit of clinical practice. The aim of this easy to use App is to allow Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to monitor practice and identify areas for improvement, which may be subject to a ‘Quality Cycle’ approach of measurement, comparison to a standard, introduction of change and re-measurement approach. The App is simple to use and allows Fellows and Trainees to collect practice data and review outcomes in comparison to data from The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) Clinical Indicator program.
The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and RANZCOG have worked collaboratively to review and develop Clinical Indicators in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as part of our commitment to safe, quality healthcare for women and their families. Many factors were considered in their development including statistical significance, relevance to contemporary practice, patient safety and ease of collection. The ACHS Clinical Indicators are a well-established tool for practice audit and reflection. Consideration of the data collected, and the figures provided should be used to review practice, care outcomes and deviations from benchmarks.
The RANZCOG O&G Audit app is a valuable audit tool for trainees and consultants. Three types of reports can be generated: Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Number of procedures. Reports can be exported to the user’s email.
